Why We Do This Work

Our mission is to help industrial manufacturers navigate production transitions without losing performance or momentum. Whether it’s a relocation, consolidation, or capacity expansion, we bring structure to complexity, aligning systems, people, and process so change becomes a catalyst for improvement, not a disruption.

We focus on minimizing operational risk and protecting the outcomes that matter most: throughput, profitability, and customer trust.

From the Shop Floor to the Frontline of Change

I started Doug Fir Operations after nearly two decades in manufacturing, from the assembly station and industrial engineering desk to factory bring-ups and global consolidation projects. I’ve led teams across North and South America, improving production systems, designing layouts, and guiding manufacturers through high-stakes transitions, including securing PPAP approval in Brazil.

For a recent international client, I supported the consolidation of production lines from separate facilities in the US into a single location. We balanced lines, restructured BOMs and routings, improved vendor communication, and developed a facility layout that worked not only in theory but for the people running it day to day. The new layout significantly improved floor space utilization and created enough capacity to absorb an additional production line.

That’s what makes Doug Fir Operations different: we bring a systems-level view while earning buy-in on the shop floor. We draw on real-world experience to build clear, actionable roadmaps that help industrial manufacturing leaders execute relocations, consolidations, and capacity expansions — without losing throughput, profit, or momentum.
